I would like to know how many cases there have been of medical negligence against nobles hospital in the last 5 years. I would like to be given a break down of these figures on an annual basis. I would like to know how many of these medical negligence cases had a successful outcome for those individuals who brought forward these cases against nobles hospital. Of those cases which were successful I would like to know for each case the reason why the case was brought forward and outline of the judgement including the costs awarded to the successful claimant.

We write further to your request which was received on 8 August 2022 and which states:
"I would like to know how many cases there have been of medical negligence against nobles hospital in the last 5 years. I would like to be given a break down of these figures on an annual basis. Our response: While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department of Health and Social Care ('the Department') is unable to provide all of the information that you have requested however please find below the information that is held, which relates to the costs awarded. 2019 = £2,326,099.56 2020 = £735,489.51 2021 = £0 2022 = £157,057.32 To provide advice and assistance, you may wish to re-submit your request to Manx Care which is an option available on the Freedom of Information request portal, who may be able to help you further.
