We write further to your request which was received on 28th July 2022 which states:
"1) Please could you advise of the charity number for the IOM Air Ambulance. I am aware it fund raises and receives donation. 2) Please could I have a copy of the policies and annual report for this charity. 3) Please could I have a list of what was the monies fund raised and donated spent on in the last three years."
Our Response While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Care is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.
Nobles Air Ambulance Service itself, is not a registered charity. It is a unit of Nobles Hospital and any charitable donations are administered by the Nobles Hospital Trusts (Noble's Hospital Equipment Trust, Noble's Hospital Patients Comfort Trust and Noble's Hospital Education Trust which are 3 distinct registered charities). The charities themselves are not directly subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act. However you may wish to resubmit your request to The Attorney General’s Chambers who may be able to help you.
