We write further to your request which was received on 18th July 2022 which states:

"In respect of the catering facility in the foyer at Manannan Court, known as the Pit Stop cafe: 1. What are the Cafe's usual operating days and opening hours? 2. Our Response 1. What are the Cafe's usual operating days and opening hours? We can confirm the opening hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00-14:00. 2. What are the visiting hours at Manannan Court? These details are available by calling the reception of Manannan Court and also available on their website www.gov.im/manannan-court. This information on visiting times: Harbour Suite (Adult): 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 8pm If these times are not convenient, please speak to the staff, who will arrange alternative times. We request that only 2 visitors visit at a time and that children do not visit unless they are immediate family. Glen Suite (Older Persons) Visiting on the Glen Suite can be accommodated most times of the day but needs to be discussed with the nursing staff. Complying with the request for information would require the public authority to do one or more of the matters mentioned in section 8(3) (things a public authority is not required to do by the Act S11(3)(b), in this instance, complying with your request for information would require us to create or derive information from information that we hold.
    The figures below do not include any overhead or capital costs as these are included within the overall running of Manannan Court and not separated out Pit Stop Café 2021/22 Income - Café Sales (8,843.00) Income - Vending (4,932.00) Staff Costs 3,822.00 Supplies 3,546.00 Nett Surplus (6,407.00) One of the significant purposes of the café is to provide an opportunity for individuals with lived experience to move back towards employment, and meaningful occupation. As such we are developing permitted earnings posts in order to support people on a pathway back to employment, and, as we develop, we will also offer voluntary opportunities. Our primary goal then, is people rather than profit, although we aim to develop it into a sustainable business that can cover it's own costs. The café is used by staff, patients, families and individuals from other areas (currently popular with the builders across the road). When we are in a position to expand our opening hours, we would like it to be a place where people can come when they feel that they need a bit of company, a recovery space for people to come and have some refreshment, in a supportive and welcoming environment. We are also encouraging the inpatients to get involved, in providing cakes/biscuits as part of their recovery journey
  2. What cashless payment options are available? We can confirm that the Pit Stop Café operates on a cash only basis. The team are currently working with the finance department in order to install a card machine, but this is not yet in place.

  3. What proportion of customers are staff members compared with service users and
    their visitors? While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Care is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. There is no analysis of customers using the Pit Stop Café. Please quote the reference number 2537893 in any future communications.
