While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.
Employee records are not held by the Department but are held by the Office of Human Resources in the Cabinet Office.
However, you may wish to contact Office of Human Resources, Cabinet Office who may be able to help you. In relation to the question in respect of whether departmental members have approved or are aware of the appointment of any members of staff who are located off-Island, these records, if held, cannot be located without specific reference to the name or post to which you are referring. In order to assist, it is important to note that the appointment of staff is, in most cases, a delegated function to the Accountable Officer. This function is often delegated further for effective recruitment and operation of services. Where a post is a critical function or a statutory appointment, a Minister or departmental member may be part of the recruitment process or be advised of the appointment.
