We write further to your request which was received on 29 June 2022 and which states:

"1. How many flights to/from the Isle of Man were cancelled, broken down by airline, from 1st May 2022 to 30th June 2022? 2. How many flights to/from the Isle of Man were rescheduled, broken down by airline, from 1st May 2022 to 30th June 2022? 3. How many of those cancelled or rescheduled flights were affected by operating hours at Ronaldsway Airport and within Air Traffic Control?"

Our response to your request is as follows:

  1. The Department holds the following information with respect to the number of flight cancellations within the specified period: Arrivals Departures EasyJet 19 19 Loganair 27 26 West Atlantic 5 3 Aer Lingus 0 0 Please note that the cancellation numbers includes ALL cancellations including those cancelled as part of scheduling updates e.g. the batch of Loganair London City flights.
  2. The Department does not hold information on the number of flights that were rescheduled within the specified period.
  3. Flights may be cancelled by the operators for a wide range of reasons, not all of which are stated on the information received by the Department. It is therefore not possible to directly attribute cancellations to operating hours. The following information held by the Department shows the number of days within the specified period on which the Airport has closed: within its published operating hours; within its agreed seasonal extension; or beyond the agreed seasonal extension:
