Dear ###

We write further to your request which was received on 24th June 2022 which states:

"I wish to know the availability for beds in Nobles Hospital between the 20th May 2022 (20/05/2022) and 28th May 2022 (28/05/2022). I wish to know the availability in particular for Wards 1, 6, 7 (stroke ward) and 9 for further care, Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Intensive Care Unit (ITU)."

Following clarification, we agreed to provide available bed numbers as at midnight of each day requested. Our Response

The numbers below are taken from the evening declaration of hospital bed state that is agreed with the Access & Capacity Co-ordinator and the Duty Manager at 20:00 (not midnight as agreed but we believe is equally relevant) The bed state for each area is highly dynamic and will vary greatly across the clinical day from the mid-point of the day when ward rounds have taken place and patients highlighted for discharge. As we move through the rest of the day, the site team will reassign beds across the wards to ensure that there are sufficient beds in Ward 1 to support admission and assessment overnight.
We also aim to leave the stroke and critical care units with admitting beds. This does not take into account the surgical beds stock which is also used for surgical admissions and, when necessary, to support medicine with outlying patents when the need arises. Please quote the reference number 2509897 in any future communications.
