Question 06: 'Please could you provide me with the total number of Units of
Orthodontic Activity (UOAS) contracted to, and completed by, providers on
the Isle of Man for the years 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.'
Response:
FOI IM84057I - Information already available to requester for years 2016-2017
The Orthodontic contract previously in place ran up to the end of September 2016 and
the information the requester is asking for is contained in the above FOI response
(there has been no number of UOAs contracted since or target for percentage of
achievement since).
Following the cessation of the previous contract, patients transferred under the care of
the Department of Health and Social Care to continue their ongoing care and a new
‘Any Qualified Provider’ contract was drawn up and tendered for. The new contract
did not assign a contracted amount of UOAs and the payment system for the delivery
of orthodontic treatment was also changed to encourage treatment completion and to
allow for payment to be made to the Provider for UOAs actually delivered (as opposed
to the previous format of contract which paid a full contract value in twelfths).
The new contract has been in place since October 2017 and is held by Regent Health
Services Limited.
For the first 3 months of the contract commencing (October-December 2017) the
Provider worked closely with the DHSC to transfer patients currently in treatment into
the Service. UOAs delivered and paid for from January 2018 to current date is as
follows:
Financial Period
Number of UOAs
Completed
January 2018-March
2018

April 2018-March 2019
5539.0
April 2019-March 2020
