We write further to your request which was received on 7th April 2022 which states:

"1. Please may I be supplied with the total number of staff you have working within Manx Care. a) Please may you break this figure down by department (e.g. nurses, reception/admin, doctors etc.) b) Please may this figure reflect permanent staff - by permanent I mean non-locum/bank staff. 2. Please may I also be supplied with the total salary spend of the staff working in Manx Care (ignoring bank and locum staff spend). Please may this figure also be broken down by department also (e.g. nurses = £X, reception/admin = £Y, doctors = £Z)." We then requested clarification as follows: Q1: We propose to provide FTE as this provides better context for your second question as salary varies with FTE. Please note, the data provided will be as at 31st March 2022 - please can you confirm if this is acceptable? Q2: What period/date range do you require (it can vary depending on additional entitlements/payments (such as on-call allowances)? Would the salary spend for the month of March, broken down by terms and conditions be acceptable? Q1 and Q2: Our system does not record staff by their working role (such as reception/admin, etc), instead we could provide a breakdown between terms and conditions (such as MPTC, Medical & Dental, Civil Service, etc.) - please can you confirm if this is acceptable? Your response to our request for clarification: “With regard to FTE, this is acceptable, thank you. With regard to the break down of staff into categories, as you have suggested, this will also be acceptable - thank you. Lastly, with regard to salary spend, would you be able to provide the figures for January, February and March” Our Response Following the clarification outlined above, our response illustrates the total spend on salaries within Manx Care  based on the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) number of staff working within Manx Care  for the months of January, February and March 2022  categorised by terms and conditions (e.g. MPTC, Medical & Dental, Civil Service, etc.)

Please Note:  Therapeutic Earners, Individual Contracts, and Teachers and Lecturers have been grouped so as to anonymise the data, due to the potential to work out individual salaries due to the low group sizes.  Public Services Commission staff include both Manual and Craft workers and Civil Servants some historic terms and conditions differ between these two groups and may be subject to protection but work is ongoing to harmonise terms and conditions and procedures for these groups.
