We write further to your request which was received on 8th February 2022 and which states:

"Can you confirm how many days of staff absence there have been among teachers broken down by academic year since (and including) the 2018-19 academic year to the current academic year so far as a result of mental ill health?"

Our response to your request is as follows: At the time of processing your information request, unfortunately we have not been able to provide you with the information that you have requested, in the exact format that you require. We have encountered some reporting limitations, which are presently subject to ongoing investigation. As such, the data outlined within the below table only looks at secondary schools and primary schools. It should also be noted that the data recorded prior to June 2021 includes primary and secondary catering staff and due to a structure change the data recorded post June 2021 does not include primary and secondary catering staff. With acknowledgement given to the above limitations I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. Please note the below figures include personal, work related and unclassified absences that relate to mental health.
