We write further to your request which was received on 1 February 2022 and which states:
"1) Does any health-care professional, practice or hospital receive any financial payment for prescribing Remdesivir? 2) If so, how much is received each time Remdesivir is prescribed? 3) Who is the beneficiary of this payment? 4) How many patients per month have died for any and all causes of mortality post Remdesivir being administered November 2020 to present? 5) From Q4, what was the recorded Cause of death?" Our Response: Question 1: Does any health-care professional, practice or hospital receive any financial payment for prescribing Remdesivir? No health care professional, practice or hospital has received any financial payment. Question 2: If so, how much is received each time Remdesivir is prescribed? Please refer to question 1. Question 3: Who is the beneficiary of this payment? Please refer to question 1. Question 4: How many patients per month have died for any and all causes of mortality post Remdesivir being administered November 2020 to present? While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Manx Care is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.
In order to provide advice and assistance you may wish to contact the General Registry who holds death certificate information. Question 5: From Q4, what was the recorded Cause of death?" While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Manx Care is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.
