Dear ####

We write further to your request that was received on 28 January 2022 which states:

"Could you please provide information as regards to financial assistance applied and given to all MHK's who own business's from the Covid schemes"

Our response to your request is as follows:

The Coronavirus Business Support Schemes were introduced at various points during the pandemic to give local businesses essential funding during extremely challenging times for staff and operations. A large number of companies in the Isle of Man made use of the support, ensuring their business would continue after the pandemic and that staff could be paid and looked after.

The information in this FOI is a precursor to a broader data release. The Isle of Man Government will be publishing the details of all recipients under the various Coronavirus support schemes at the end of April.

With your agreement, the information has been collated as follows: -

• Coronavirus Business Support Scheme payments made to all businesses and self- employed individuals where the MHKs from the current and previous administration have declared an interest on the Tynwald Members interests list;
• A business interest has been defined as being a shareholding of any size and / or directorship;

For clarity, it should be noted that the application for financial assistance may not have been submitted directly by the Tynwald Member, nor may it be the case that they benefitted from any financial assistance received by the business given the nature of their declared interest. Please be aware we have excluded directorships that expired prior to the end of February 2020.

We do not hold Salary support scheme information and so this will not be included in the response.

The information is correct as at 11th March 2022.
