Dear ###
We write further to your request which was received on 21 January 2022 and which states:
"I seek publication for the waiting list figures for CAMHS, broken down by how many people have been waiting for an appointment for over A) six months B) one year C) eighteen months d) two years e) anything over two years."
Our Response: While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, complying with the request would require the public authority to do one or more of the matters mentioned in section 8(3) (things a public authority is not required to do by the Act Section 11(3) (b)). In this instance, complying with your request for information would require us to create or derive information from information that we hold. The data Manx Care hold is on the clinical record system which does not allow the waiting lists to be broken down in this way. By way of service improvement underway since November last year, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service has undertaken a detailed audit of all young people on caseloads or waitlists in order to better inform our work on reducing wait times. This has involved RAG-rating (Red- Amber-Green) and qualitatively assessing every child in terms of need. This work is derived from NHS England’s Red2Green process and principles which have been successful in reducing inpatient treatment periods in the UK. The purpose of this project is to better prioritise the most at-risk young people on the island and to offer more rapid response and signposting to families currently awaiting a service who could receive support from one of our tier-2 partners.
