While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Care is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. Deaths under general anaesthetic or after being in ICU cannot be determined from the information recorded on our systems. Information on cause of death is held with the Civil Registry. Q6 Please list the number of people you have on record as being immunocompromised for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 to the present date 09/12/21? After further clarification of the information you were seeking, we respond to your amended question below: Q6 The number of persons taking any immunosuppressive medicines on the island for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 to the present date 09/12/21 While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide the information you have requested. Complying with the request for information would require the public authority to do one or more of the matters mentioned in section 8(3) (things a public authority is not required to do by the Act S11(3)(b), in this instance, complying with your request for information would require us to create or derive information from information that we hold. We are not able to provide the number of people who have been prescribed immunosuppressive medications. Equally, many drugs are prescribed for varying reasons which cannot be identified. If you can identify the specific drugs you request data for we may be able to provide the number of doses for each (but we reiterate this would not determine if the drugs were used as an immunosuppressant) Q7 Can covid be detected in blood samples?" While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under section 20 of the Act, we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you, whether free of charge or on payment of a fee. All blood products are screened for any blood born viruses. They are also filtered to remove white cells and the plasma is removed before use (this is where any antibodies will be found).
