Dear Department of Infrastructure, Please confirm the weight/amount of coal that was delivered and/or used by the Department for the Steam Railway in the following years: 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021* Please supply this in either calendar years or financial year - whichever is more readily available. *For 2021 please supply the most up to date figure that is available. Please note I am not requesting any kind of financial information, purely the weight/amount/volume of coal, so as not to cause any commercial confidentiality issues. Kind regards

We write further to your request which was received on 4 November 2021 and which states:
"Please confirm the weight/amount of coal that was delivered and/or used by the Department for the Steam Railway in the following years: 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Please supply this in either calendar years or financial year - whichever is more readily available. For 2021 please supply the most up to date figure that is available. Please note I am not requesting any kind of financial information, purely the weight/amount/volume of coal, so as not to cause any commercial confidentiality issues." Our response to your request is as follows: The Department of Infrastructure does not record the quantity of coal bought each year in a way that allows us to show this information by volume, only by cost. The coal is used for operating the Isle of Man Steam Railway. Since 2018 we have been recording quantities of coal as used below:
