Dear ###
We write further to your request which was received on 1 November 2021 and which states:
"What qualifications are required for a position as a Security Manager at the Sea Terminal?"
Our response to your request is as follows: 1. In September 2020, the job title Port Security Senior Supervisor was amended to Harbours Security Manager following a JEGS (Job Evaluation Grade Scheme) process. The job description remained unchanged. 2. Whilst there is a job description for the Port Security Senior Supervisor role, there was no person specification. A person specification sets out what the applicant needs to be successful in the role which includes, where applicable, essential or desirable qualifications. 3. Although there is currently no personal specification attached to the post of Harbours Security Manager, a role which incorporates the responsibilities of the Port Facilities Security Officer (PFSO) we would expect at least 5 years’ experience in a security environment, the holding of a recognised PFSO qualification and (since the Sea Terminal X-Ray equipment is also under the remit of PFSO) a Radiation Protection Supervisor course would be desirable. Please quote the reference number 2063921 in any future communications.
