Original Request

Please can you confirm the following: 1. How many allegations of sexual misconduct (of any kind including indecent assault, indecent exposure and domestic violence) have been made against serving IOM Police officers (persons who were enrolled as police officers including Specials and whether on duty or off-duty) for each of the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020? 2. Dear ###

We write further to your request which was received on 15 October 2021 and which states:

"Please can you confirm the following: 1. 2. How many officers were dismissed from the IOM Constabulary in each of the above years (for whatever reasons)? Thank you."

Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. 1. Allegations of sexual misconduct by year of investigation: 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 0 1 0 0 1 2. The IOM Constabulary is not undertaking a review of the recorded cases as follows: The matter in 2017 was advised on by the Attorney Generals Chambers and there were evidential difficulties, including the victim not supporting the investigation; the officer subject of the 2017 allegation is no longer a police officer. The allegation in 2020 was a historic allegation dating back to an officer’s childhood, the investigation was subject of external advice from independent

specialist counsel, who determined that the incident should be dealt with by way of a caution. The subject of the allegation is no longer a police officer.
3. No officers were dismissed during 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. The Constabulary would refer to FOI request reference 2030582, which provides data on officers who have resigned during the same time period.

Please quote the reference number 2039173 in any future communications.
