A recognised major challenge facing Manx Care in its efforts
to tackle the waiting list backlog is validating the waiting list.
The Patient Tracking List (PTL) does contain errors which are
likely to include inaccuracies and duplications. This is a very
similar problem facing some NHS Hospital Trusts in England.
Manx Care are working to develop an Access Policy which is a
key requirement of the Required Outcome’s Framework (ROF)
which will initiate the management and delivery of a Waiting
List Data Validation Programme across the specialities to
ensure the PTL is accurate and robust as we move forward.
This programme aims to provide assurance about the quality
of the waiting list data and identify pathways for Manx Care
to review and remove where appropriate
