We write further to your request which was received on 9th September 2021 and which states:

"Please can you confirm how many medical doctors' employment was transferred from the Department of Health and Social Care to Manx Care when the board was established in April, and how many remained with DHSC."

Our Response A total of 162 medical doctors transferred from DHSC to Manx Care with effect from the 1st April 2021. A further 146 doctors holding only a Bank or Locum position (i.e. posts without contracted hours) were also transferred to Manx Care. Doctors holding bank positions have no obligation to take up work when it is offered. These figures relate to staff who are registered with the General Medical Council. Registrants with the General Dental Council have been excluded. One GMC registrant medical doctor was retained by the Department of Health and Social Care. This was not in a clinical role. Please quote the reference number 1986083 in any future communications.
