Our Response

Q1 I would like the PCR setting and operational instructions that you have been supplied? Any and all instructions used for the PCR test? While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under section 20 of the Act, we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you, whether free of charge or on payment of a fee. All of the information that you have requested is available on the government website covid19.gov.im/general guidance/testing & results: Our PCR CT Setting is 40. The instructions are also accessible from the website. Q2 Also, I would like to know the PCR CT setting on a weekly basis or whenever there is a change in PCR CT setting from March 2020 to June 2021 inclusive. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under section 20 of the Act, we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you, whether free of charge or on payment of a fee. All of the information that you have requested is available on the government website covid19.gov.im/general guidance/testing & results: Our PCR CT Setting has never changed.

Q3 Pls provide a breakdown of the number of covid19 or sars covid 2 admissions to hospital from March 2020 to June2021 on a weekly breakdown pls? The Table and chart below illustrate the hospital admissions from 2nd March 2020 to 4th July 2021 where the recorded diagnosis coding relates to COVID-19. There is a considerable backlog of uncoded, finished consultant episodes from 2020 which could contribute to lower numbers being seen in these results during this period. Manx Care is actively working to develop a sustainable, accurate and timely clinical coding function to address this situation.

ICD10 diagnosis coding is only used to record the coding for finished consultant episodes (FCE) which utilises the documented clinical information to convert into coding after the patient has been discharged.
