Could you please detail the total salary payments made to central Government employees (not including statutory boards) in the years 2016 to present and the total Government pension contribution to employees for the same period

as it is held with a view to being published in the Detailed Government Accounts for the year ending March 2021, at the July 2021 sitting of Tynwald.

As section 41 is a qualified exemption, it is subject to a public interest test. The public interest must be something that is of serious concern and benefit to the public at large.

Factors in favour of disclosure  Public interest in transparency of issues of financial management and accountability.

Factors in favour of maintaining the exemption  Timing. The information will become publically available within a matter of weeks.  Disclosure would undermine the established procedure whereby information contained in the Detailed Government Accounts is generally first made available through the annual process of laying the accounts before the Court of Tynwald.

In taking these factors into account, the Treasury is satisfied that the factors in favour of maintaining the exemption outweigh the factors in favour of the disclosure of the information.
