Original Request

Is there a policy in place at the DOI that any works, with the exception of emergency repairs, to be carried out in registered Conservation Areas require either a discussion with Conversation Officers or a full planning application to be submitted as would be required by other property owners or Government Departments? If there isn't a procedure in place to ensure the correct processes are undertaken why isn't there and who is responsible for deciding that planning approval is or isn't required?
