Estimated economic burden to Island's health service via CVD/Cancer. We're looking for an estimated healthcare cost for both Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Cancer on the Island (the mean cost over the last 10 years or the cost of a specific year between 2016/2019). We're looking for the cost to healthcare directly, productivity losses and informal care as a total. For example, the UK estimated a total cost of £29.1 Billion in 2016 (60% healthcare, 23% productivity loss and 17% informal care). Our Response: While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department of Health and Social Care (“the Department”) is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. However you may wish to re-submit your request to the Economic Division within the Cabinet Office who may be able to help you.
