Dear sirs. I would like to see the specialists report that the Department of Infrastructure engaged to assess the contractors work on Richmond Hill. For the avoidance of doubt , this in in relation to the chippings that came loose on Richmond Hill after it was resurfaced and subsequently started to come loose. How much did the works cost in total and who will be responsible to correct any defective works . Has any remedial work been charged to the DOI , if so please provide any paperwork in regards the cost of remedial work. I would ask for all correspondence between the DOI and contractor and DOI in relation to the issue of chippings coming loose from the surface .

Proposal for remedial works to be carried out on Richmond Hill

Works to be programmed for late June or early July 2020, the work to carried out und a daytime road closure

Design • Before the design is produced we would like to take sample cores to establish the porosity of the material. • Full design to Road Note 39 will be carried out and submitted for approval prior to commencement of the dressing. Preferred dressing is a 6mm/ 10mm inverted dressing however if the design comes up with an alternative dressing we will submit all designs for discussion
Line removal/ • Lines to be removed using the Hydroblast system • Lines to be reinstalled after dressing

Binder
• We wold propose using Premium 80 polymer modified binder Chippings • We will request to purchase washed aggregate from Poortown Quarry • Chipping spread rates to be agreed with the client

Plant
Applicator • We will have our Binder applicator full calibrated by a UCAS approve inspector • Carpet tile test will be carried out at the Balthane Depot before the start of each day to ensure the correct dosages are being sprayed. Self-propelled Chipper

• We plan to bring in a 2017 4 x wheel drive Phoenix chipper complete with operator from Colas Limited • Our own 4 x wheel drive chipper will be kept as a backup or if the design calls for a racked dressing, Roller

• We intend to hire in a BW24 Pneumatic Tyre Roller from CRH Plant to roll the dressing
