Please would you provide the all cause mortality figures for the last 10 years (2010-2020 inclusive)? By all cause mortality, I mean the total numbers of deaths of Manx residents who died by any means, on the Isle of Man. Please show a monthly breakdown of these figures to allow for comparison. If it is possible to group the deaths into general causes (ie. cardiovascular, respiratory, Alzheimer's, cancer, etc.) it would be helpful, but not essential. Data can be presented in whichever format you see fit. Thank you for your help.

We write further to your request which was received on the 7th January 2021 and states:
Please would you provide the all cause mortality figures for the last 10 years
(2010-2020 inclusive)? By all cause mortality, I mean the total numbers of
deaths of Manx residents who died by any means, on the Isle of Man. Please
show a monthly breakdown of these figures to allow for comparison. If it is
possible to group the deaths into general causes (ie. cardiovascular,
respiratory, Alzheimer's, cancer, etc.) it would be helpful, but not essential.
Data can be presented in whichever format you see fit.
Our Response:
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department of Health and Social Care (“the Department”) is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. However you may wish to re-submit your request to Public Health within the Cabinet Office who may be able to help you. The information you have requested is held by Public Health.
