We write further to your request which was received on 17 December 2020 which states:
"Part 1.Since April 1, how much money has the Treasury paid to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company; and Part 2. For what purpose was this money provided?"
Our response to your request is as follows: Part 1 As regards part one of your request, I am able to confirm that Treasury paid £5263.02 to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, in the period from the 1st April 2020 to 18th December 2020. Part 2 I can advise you that the purposes of the “money provided” by Treasury in the period 1st April 2020 to 18th December 2020, related to: • The payment of two travel warrants for individuals that were assisted in being repatriated to the UK1. • A repayment of excise duty on hydrocarbon oil.
In respect of the two travel warrants listed under the first bullet point, please note that the invoices in respect of these were raised prior to 1st April 2020, with payment taking place in April 2020. 1 Section 124AB of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 (Payment of travelling expenses and maintenance, etc. of person leaving the Island who is not entitled to income support because the person does not satisfy the IOM residential condition for income support) or Section 3ZB of the Jobseekers Act 1995 (Payment of travelling expenses and maintenance, etc. of person leaving the Island who is not entitled to a jobseeker’s allowance because the person does not satisfy the IOM residential condition).
