Original Request

1. Could you lease give me the names and their position in the Government and / or the Tourist Department of the persons who were responsible for the Strategic Capacity Scheme? 2. Will a list of beneficiaries of the aforesaid Scheme be available for public scrutiny? 3. Could you please tell me how much money was allocated to the Tourist Department by the Treasury because of the corona-virus? 4. Could you please tell me how much money was allocated for overtime to the Department of Tourism in 2020 because of the corona-virus? Yours sincerely,

Our response to your request is as follows:

  1. Could you please give me the names and their position in the Government and / or the Tourist Department of the persons who were responsible for the Strategic Capacity Scheme?

The Strategic Capacity Scheme was developed as part of a range of business support schemes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Government Officers and Politicians from the Department for Enterprise and Treasury worked jointly to develop and administer the Schemes following the approval of Council of Ministers and ultimately Tynwald.

  1. Will a list of beneficiaries of the aforesaid Scheme be available for public scrutiny?

The Scheme, as approved by Tynwald, does not specifically require the Department to publish details of those businesses or persons who have received financial assistance.

  1. Could you please tell me how much money was allocated to the Tourist Department by the Treasury because of the corona-virus?

No specific additional budget was allocated to the Department for Enterprise / Visit Isle of Man in respect of Covid-19. However, the range of business support schemes available to travel and tourism businesses were and continue to be funded from the Coronavirus Contingency Fund.

  1. Could you please tell me how much money was allocated for overtime to the Department of Tourism in 2020 because of the corona-virus?

No specific budget was allocated for overtime to Visit Isle of Man.

  1. Finally, I should like to know if there is a procedure for registering a complaint about the lack of compensation for our camping site which has been a continuous asset to the Treasury and the economy of the Isle of Man for about sixty years.
