Dear ###
We write further to your request which was received on 28 September 2020 and which states:
"The data relating car parking complaints made in the areas of Birch Hill Crescent between its Junction with Hilberry road and the junction at Hillcrest Grove. Also data is requested for parking complaints on Briarfield Avenue. The number of complaints and the outcome of the complaint - ie was the complaint dismissed, was a parking offense notice issued? The timescales required is from as far back as records permit to current day. (September 2020) if available."
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. Whilst the Constabulary responds in this regard it should also be noted that the Parking Controllers work on behalf of the Department for Infrastructure and the Constabulary does not have access to analyse the Fixed Penalty Tickets which are issued and this information may be available from the Isle of Man Courts. I have detailed below the information that is held. Data was reviewed for events recorded on Police despatch system in the area specified. Detail on events could be retrieved for last seven years (since October 2013). These events were reviewed for relevance as parking complaints. Only two relevant events were identified. Both occurred in 2017. A further event was discounted as outside defined area (occurring in Birch Hill Grove in 2016). 19/06/2016 15:41 10/05/2017 09:26 29/09/2017 14:52
Both relevant events resulted in the driver being spoken to, and the vehicles moved, but no penalties issued (one of these was a car breakdown, rather than intentional inconsiderate parking).
