We write further to your request which was received on 24 August 2020 and which states (sic) - numbered for ease of reference:
"I am looking to find the following information where available: 1. The total number of vehicle registrations on the Isle of Man, broken down by year of first registration in the Isle of Man. 2. For each year, please also provide totals for each Fuel Type."
Further to our email of 22 September, we are now able to give you a full response.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under section 20 of
the Act, we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it
is already reasonably accessible to you, whether free of charge or on payment
of a fee.
We send information on the numbers of 3 different categories of vehicles to the
Cabinet Office for the media publication Isle of Man in Numbers. There is a link
below for the 2020 version and on page 76 there is a spreadsheet detailing the
amount of vehicles registered yearly from 2008 – 2019.

The information that you have requested is not recorded in this format and the
above would normally be all we are able to provide. However, as an exception
on this occasion, and in the interests of providing assistance, we have taken a
data extract and an officer has carried out substantial analysis to provide the
information in Appendix 1.
