We write further to your request which was received on 29 May 2020 and which states:
"What is the total number of individual juveniles detained at the IOM Secure Unit up to 29th May 2020 for breach of any of the Emergency Powers Regulations 2020? (Detained to include those sentenced to custody as well as those refused bail and remanded in custody and those remanded in custody for breach of bail for such offences)."
Our response to your request is as follows: The Department of Health and Social Care has had: • One young person in custody twice (two separate occasions) for COVID-19 breaches. • 2 young people detained in Whitehoe (not secure) before presentation at court the following day (one of those twice). On each occasion disposal was community not custody. • Also, involvement has taken place with the Youth Justice Team in relation to three other individuals to COVID-19 charges but bailed to parents prior to court.
