We write further to your request which was received on 8th April 2020 and which states:

"Please can you provide me with a spreadsheet on what the top paid doctors are (no names required just requesting the income) and can you please go into depth showing how many doctors are on this wage, please can I have one for public section and one for the private section."

I have detailed below the information that is held. Please see the attached document which contains up to date pay scales for doctors employed by the Department of Health and Social Care. However under section 11(3)(b) of the Act, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, complying with your request for information regarding the number of doctors on each pay scale would require the Department to create or derive information from information that it holds. In relation to private doctors’ salaries, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under Section 11(3)(a) of the Act the Department of Health and Social Care does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. Information regarding private doctors’ salaries would need to be requested from individual private clinicians. Please quote the reference number 1261981 in any future communications.
