Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following; 1. In order to identify and locate the information that you asked for, we needed to clarify the time period the information is being requested for and what is meant by age groups. You advised: Time period I am requesting the information from last 10 year being from 2010. Age group from School Academic Year 9 to School Academic Year 14, (from 13 years of age to 19 years of age). As a result of your response we needed to inform you that Freedom of Information requests only apply to information created on or after 11 October 2011. In addition to this we also needed to further clarify what was meant by “or any other school” in the second part of the Freedom of Information request and if this referred to a specific type of school. You advised: I would be grateful if you would provide the information from 11th October 2011. ‘Or any other school’ also includes colleges such as: Bird College Greater Brighton Metropolitan College Leeds College Leicester College of performing arts Reed College Royal Academy of Music *Sharjah-upon-Avon college.

Our response to your request is as follows: I have enclosed copies of the information that is being released to you The information provided has been collected from the Department’s Student Awards team and the Isle of Man Arts Council. Please note the Isle of Man Arts Council funding has historically taken the form of support for equipment or clothing etc. and has not paid course fees. In 2019, the Isle of Man Arts Council changed its student funding policy and now award 3 separate awards over the duration of a course to 3 students.
