Dear ###
We write further to your response (1) to your original request 1188349, and your subsequent email (2) both of which are being dealt with here under a separate FOI request number, and both quoted below (sic):
"1. …I would at the very least appreciate it if you could help me find data on causes of death in fallen livestock? 2. How many livestock animals, in total, are born on the island and imported here, per year? Where possible and practicable, please categorise the information. Such as: type of animal and whether local or imported."
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the
Department of Infrastructure does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to
do so, find the information that you have requested.
The Department’s involvement in the collection of deceased animals is a simple aspect
of waste collection and disposal and does not include gathering any information on the
cause of death of the animal.
In addition, the DOI has no involvement whatsoever in the monitoring of livestock
either born or imported to the Island.
However, you may wish to contact DEFA who might be able to help you.
Please quote the reference number 1218681 in any future communications.
