Could you please provide statistics of the number of road traffic collisions/accidents/incidents in the vicinity of Hillberry Road/Birch Hill Crescent/Avenue area for the past 5 years to date categorised, if possible. Could you please provide statistics for the number of illegal parking notices served in the Birch Hill Crescent and Briarfield Avenue Onchan area for the past 5 years to date. Please provide statistics of the number of complaints made regarding parking/illegal parking/traffic management in the same areas for the past 5 years to date.

We write further to your request which was received on 27 February 2020 and which states:

"Could you please provide statistics of the number of road traffic collisions/accidents/incidents in the vicinity of Hillberry Road/Birch Hill Crescent/Avenue area for the past 5 years to date categorised, if possible. Could you please provide statistics for the number of illegal parking notices served in the Birch Hill Crescent and Briarfield Avenue Onchan area for the past 5 years to date. Please provide statistics of the number of complaints made regarding parking/illegal parking/traffic management in the same areas for the past 5 years to date."

Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. Birch Hill area was selected to include all of Birch Hill Crescent and Birch Hill Avenue and surrounding roads including relevant section of Hillberry Road (see maps).  Collisions recorded by Police within this area in the last five years, 2015-2019, by level of seriousness are as follows: Year Serious Slight Damage Only Grand Total 2015 1 2 3 2016 1 1 3 5 2017 1 1 2 4 2018 1 2 3 2019 1 1 Total 2 4 10 16 Note: only one Collision has been recorded in five years within 150m of junction of Hillberry Road and Birch Hill Crescent (indicated by purple circle on second map), and only ten other traffic incidents.  Illegal Parking Notices are not held by the Constabulary, and so no data on these can be provided.  Search of Police event reporting (iNet) for same period and area found the following additional traffic incidents: Year Obstruction Of The Road Other Traffic Incident Traffic Offences Grand Total 2015 7 11 18 2016 10 16 26 2017 11 9 20 2018 2 2 2 6 2019 2 3 5 10 Total 32 41 7 80
