We write further to your request which was received on 24 February 2020 and which states:

"Broken down by acts/different performers, what has been profit or loss for entertainment at the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre since January 1, 2018?"

Our response to your request is as follows: I have enclosed copies of the information that is being released to you. Please note that the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre do not achieve a profit on all productions, nor do all productions result in a loss. A number of productions are produced by independent hirers which incur a hire fee. As a publicly funded complex, it is the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre’s obligation to provide a varied programme of events and performances at the venues that will appeal to a wide cross section of the community. Some events will not be as popular as others, however providing access and opportunity for audiences to attend such events as part of the programming has to be taken into consideration.
