Please provide the average cost of a lunch given to a prisoner in the Isle of Man Prison. Please break down the cost into the cost of raw ingredients + cost of cooking = total average cost of a lunch. I understand that the prisoners cook their own lunch, so can accept that the cost of cooking might be a low number.

We write further to your request which was received on 4 December 2019 and which states:

"Please provide the average cost of a lunch given to a prisoner in the Isle of Man Prison. Please break down the cost into the cost of raw ingredients + cost of cooking = total average cost of a lunch. I understand that the prisoners cook their own lunch, so can accept that the cost of cooking might be a low number."

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. The requestor is asking for a breakdown of the cost into the cost of raw ingredients + cost of cooking = total average cost of a lunch. This information is not held.

A similar FOI request was received in August 2019 and I can advise that the average cost per meal per day is £4.20. Please quote the reference number 1083361 in any future communications.
