Question Answer
How many admin officers are employed at the prison 3
How many Senior officers and above are employed and how many are absent 2
How many staff have been off in lieu in the last three months and the number of days taken Information not held
What qualifications does the head of security and what qualifications would such a Post holder be expected to hold There are no formal qualifications for the Head of Security role or indeed any of the equivalent roles. This is the same as in the UK. The present incumbent had an initial 12 weeks training in the UK on the initial Prison Officer Training Course. She also had to pass a Senior Officer Promotion exam before being able to progress up the career ladder. That exam is now obsolete and in the current climate there are no exams that have to be passed bar the Initial Prison Officer Training Course. She has over 30 years' experience and has had to gain two promotions to achieve this position.
