We write further to your request which was received on the 18th November 2019 and states:
"Question 1: How many administration staff are absent due to illness across the Department of Health and Social Care? Question 2: How many off shore nurses are retained on short fixed term contracts? Are they on the same rate as permanent nurses? Clarification sought: Do you mean the number of nurses on a limited term contract who were recruited from the UK? Response: Just to be clear, non-island residents instead of UK."
Our response to your request is as follows: Question 1: How many administration staff are absent due to illness across the Department of Health and Social Care? As at the 11th November 2019 and recorded on PIP (People Information Programme, the electronic Human Resources and Payroll system) there were 18 administrative staff off sick.
Question 2:
How many off shore nurses (non-island residents) are retained on short
fixed term contracts? Are they on the same rate as permanent nurses?
Records held by the Office of Human Resources indicate that none of the nurses
employed by the Department of Health and Social Care on fixed term contracts are
non-island residents.
